Diwali and Lakshmi Pooja on sunday, Oct 30th, 2016

HAPPY DIWALI WISHES! Maine Hindu Temple (MHT) is celebrating Diwali Lakshmi puja which is one of the important rituals performed during the festival of Diwali and this ritual is performed to invite Goddess Lakshmi. Poojari Pradeep Sharma from Boston will be performing Diwali Lakshmi Puja on Sunday,  Oct 30th, 2016. Let us all gather to celebrate this traditional "Festival of Lights" and offer our prayers to Goddess Lakshmi. Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth and prosperity and Hindus worship Goddess Lakshmi in their houses and temples by her devotees. A special worship is offered to Goddess Lakshmi on this auspicious day of Diwali, with religious rituals and colorful ceremonies specifically devoted to Goddess Lakshmi. 7:00 PM To 7.30 PM       Prasad/Maha Prasad 8:00 PM                        Clean-up Lakshmi Puja Sponsorship : Advance registration is mandatory for MHT to prepare a necessary arrangement for Diwali Lakshmi Puja. Diwali Lakshmi Puja is offered for a nominal fee of $51 if registered before10/27/2016. Diwali Lakshmi Puja is offered for a nominal fee of $75 if registered after10/27/2016. All the sponsors registered before 10/27/2016 are guaranteed "Diyas lighting" in addition to the Goddess Lakshmi locket. All community members are encouraged to bring the flower, prasad for the Lakshmi Puja. Volunteers needed for registration, decoration, perform Puja, crowd control, Prasad distribution and clean up.
