Kartika month (masam) is very auspicious and gets us spiritual bliss when we worship Lord Vishnu/Shiva. On this auspicious day, MHT would like to invite you all to participate in Sri Satyanarayana Swami Pooja on November 11th, 2017 Saturday at 10:00 AM. A priest from Boston will perform the Pooja. Devotees who would like to enroll in Sri Satyanarayana Swamy pooja must email to info@mainehindutemple.org or call at (207) 370- 0475.  Sri Satyanarayana Swamy Pooja Sponsorship: $75. For Registrations, Please email info@mainehindutemple.org or call (207) 370-0475 for more details. Maine Hindu Temple needs an accurate count to provide Pooja articles, materials, manage Prasadam and other arrangements for all the community members. Event Details: 9:00 am – 10:00 am – Pooja Preparation and Registrations 10:00 am -12:30 pm – Sri Satyanarayana Swamivratham 12:30 pm – 1:00 pm – Nivedyam and Aarti 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm – Prasad distribution 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm - Cleaning All community members are encouraged to bring the flowers, prasad for the Pooja. MHT needs volunteers for the event for arranging Pooja items, Garland Preparation, distribution of prasadam for the devotees and cleanup. Diwali Celebrations – October 19th, 2017

The festival of lights, Diwali is celebrated with full vigor and enthusiasm all over the World. Sri Lakshmi puja is one of the important rituals performed during the festival of Diwali, and this is performed to invite Goddess Lakshmi. Let us all gather to celebrate this traditional "Festival of Lights" and offer our prayers to Goddess Lakshmi. Diwali falls on a dark moon night which is then illuminated with the shine of earthen diyas and lamps. This festival is devoted to the praise and worship of Goddess Lakshmi, goddess of wealth and luster. In her honor, Lakshmi Puja is performed religiously during the evenings, generally after sunset.
