Navaratri Celebrations – 2017

MHT is celebrating 2017 Navaratri from Wednesday, 20th September 2017 to Saturday, 30th September . MHT is open daily for Navratri Bhajan's from 6.30pm - 7.30pm, followed by Aarti and Prasad. Nine days of navratri puja includes, Devi puja and Lalitha sahasranama, Laxmi sahasranama and Sarawati sahasranama. Navratri depicts the spiritual evolution in life of a worshipper. The mother aspect of god is worshipped as Maha Durga, Maha Laxmi & Maha Saraswati. We need community members to sponsor for Navratri events for all 9 days. The sponsor can take any of the 9 days and will be allocated on first come first basis. The sponsorship includes: - Organizing puja & aarti for a day - Bringing prasad & flowers and after clean up for a day - Organizing Devi bhajans for a day - Sending out an invitaion to all their respective friends and families to participate for the event for that particular day We request the community to participate in the above sponsorship and bring their friends and families for an evening of worship and bhajans. All devotees are encouraged to bring Prasad & flowers for the daily Navratri Bhajan events. The Program details are as follows: Day 1 of Navratri – September 20, 2017 (MHT) Tithi – Pratipada Ritual – Ghatstaphna, Goddess Worshipped - Shailaputri (Daughter of Mountain), Offerings to the Goddess – Ghee and Color to be worn on the Day – Red Day 2 of Navratri – September 21, 2017 (Devi & Lahari) Tithi – Dwitiya Ritual – Chandra Darshan, Goddess Worshipped – Brahmacharini, Offerings to the Goddess – Sugar and Color to be worn on the Day – Royal Blue Day 3 of Navratri – September 22, 2017 (Ankita, Manali, Neha, Rekha & Deepashri) Tithi – Tritiya Ritual Sindoor Tritiya, Goddess Worshipped – Chandraghanta, Offerings to the Goddess – Milk and Color to be worn on the Day – Yellow Day 4 of Navratri – September 23, 2017(Sheily, Neha, Mamata & Lakshmi) Tithi  Chaturthi Ritual - Varad Vinayaka Chauth, Goddess Worshipped – Kushmanda, Offerings to the Goddess – Malpua and Color to be Worn on the Day – Green Day 5 of Navratri – September 24, 2017(Sumitra, Sanjana & Pavitra) Tithi – Panchami Ritual – Upang Lalita Vrat, Goddess Worshipped – Skandamata, Offerings to the Goddess – Bananas and Color to be Worn on the Day – Grey Day 6 of Navratri – September 25, 2017 (Need a sponsor) Tithi – Shashthi Ritual – Saraswati Awahan, Goddess Worshipped – Katyayani mata, Offerings to the Goddess – Honey and Color to be Worn on the Day – Orange Day 7 of Navratri – September 26, 2017 (Need a sponsor) Tithi – Saptami Ritual – Saraswati Puja, Goddess Worshipped – Kaalratri mata, Offerings to the Goddess - Jaggery Dishes and  Color to be Worn on the Day  White Day 8 of Navratri – September 27, 2017 (Debalina, Lakshmi Priya, Sangeetha & Minakshi) Tithi – Ashtami Ritual – Maha Gauri Puja; Durga Ashthami, Goddess Worshipped – Mahagauri, Offerings to the Goddess – Coconut and Color to be Worn on the Day – Pink Day 9 of Navratri – September 28, 2017 (Aparna & Venkat Basani) Tithi – Navami Ritual – Ayudha puja, Navami Homam, Goddess Worshipped – Siddhidaatri, Offerings to the Goddess – Grains and Color to be Worn on the Day – Sky Blue Day 10 of Navratri – September 29, 2017 (Bhargavi, Vani, Devi & Nagina) Tithi – Dashami Navratri Parana Time to break Fasting Day 11 of Navratri – September 30, 2017. Sri Ganesh Chaturthi (24th Thursday to 26th Saturday, Aug 2017)

Maine Hindu Temple (MHT) invites all the community members along with family and friends to celebrate the birthday of our most loved deity Lord Ganesha known as Sri Ganesh Chaturthi. Ganesha who is the younger son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati is known by 108 different names among devotees and in mythology. Ganpati, the God of good beginnings is prayed to on special occasions. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great pomp and fervor in most parts of the country. The program details: 08/24 Thursday - DAY1 6.00 pm - Sri Ganesh Stapana, Ashtothram and Nivedanam 7.30 pm - Sri Ganasha Aarti 8.00 pm - Prasad distribution 9.00 pm - Cleaning 08/25- Friday  - DAY 2 7 pm - Archana, Nivedyam, Sri Ganapathi Aarti 8 PM - Prasad distribution 08/26 - Saturday - DAY 3 10 AM - Archana, Nivedyam, Sri Ganapathi Aarti followed by Ganesh Visarjan. 11 AM - Prasad distribution Lord Ganesh Chaturthi Archana : $21 We are grateful for your support, participation and generosity in this noble cause! Devotees are welcome to bring Prasadam, flowers, and fruits during Sri Ganesh Chaturthi. Sri Krishna Janmashtami Celebrations – 2017

MHT is celebrating 5244th Birth Anniversary of Lord Krishna and cordially extends an invitation to every community member along with family and friends to celebrate Lord Krishna's birthday known as Krishna Janmashtami. Lord Krishna is considered to be the Lord's most glorious incarnations. Even saying and remembering His name brings joy because Sri Krishna himself was a manifestation of joy at all levels and in all walks of life. Lord Krishna was the offspring of Devaki and Vasudeva and his birthday is commended by Hindus as Janmashtami, On this auspicious day perform Krishna Jayanthi to get a presents and lead a peace life.
